imperalism

was reading an article in the papers asking if it is necessary for imperialism to be in present or to be abolished.

the article saying that since the world practise democracy, imperialism should be abolished as the king is only a figure head.

1) if the king is to be abolished as it is a figure head, then the presidents should also be abolished... Y? Only US president has a say world event. the other presidents just smile smile and take their wages.

2) the one in control of govt are prime ministers or premiers. Premiers are appointed by the king, on recommendation of the cabinets. so is the PM. Not all PMs are elected by the ppl... althought the members of parliament or house are elected by the ppl but this doesnt means the ppl elect the PM. So y should the word democracy be used.

Overall, i still support imperialism in place. Although its just a formalty, but its still a tradition...

If u dont know, there is an Act in our Law call Queen's Eliz's Act... saying the Queen is our head but she approved our independent... something like tat...
