tax YA 07

I think only 2 or 3 of the readers are interested in this.

If you are a singaporean who earned $26,000 or less in 2006, and were not taxable after claiming personal reliefs, basically u need not file.

The relief available:
Earned income relief - Below 55yr old - $1,000

Wife/handicapped spouse relief - For spouse not earning more than $2,000

Child relief - $2,000 for below 16 yrs old

Parents/handicapped parents relief - The dependant was 55 years of age or above or was physically or mentally disabled. The dependant's annual income did not exceed $2,000.

Provident fund/life insurance relief - Max $5,000

Course fees relief - Max $3,500 RELATED TO YOUR JOB, opera not included

Relief for foreign maid levy - For MARRIED woman only, max $4,800

NSmen Relief - NSman with ICT $3,000.
NSman w/o ICT $1,500.
For KAH, additional tax relief $2,000
Tax Relief For Wife / Mother Of NSmen - $750
Tax Relief For Parents Of NSmen - $750

Any income more than that or if u wish to claim taxed dividends, pls do your filing.
