library book

Went library after work as i cant find anyone in town / those working in town, to go shopping with.
I took a book home to read and saw quite a few nice paragraphs. heheee... Ya its in English ver, but if u can translate u will know which book i reading. I will reveal the book title after i read finish.

The first poem i was
"GuanGuan cry the ospreys
on the islet in the river
So delicate the virtuous maiden,
a fit mate for our Prince."

This poem was my favourite from 诗经
关关雎鸠，在河之洲。窈窕淑女，君子好逑。
参差荇菜，左右流之。窈窕淑女，寤寐求之。
求之不得，寤寐思服。悠哉悠哉，辗转反侧。
参差荇菜，左右采之。窈窕淑女，琴瑟友之。
参差荇菜，左右芼之。窈窕淑女，钟鼓乐之。
This poem is applied for those gals with many suitors. Dont look at me. i wont chase such gals 1... They got too many choices liao. N i likely to be those queueing in Jurong if she lived in Ponggol...

There is another poem which i like also. Its called 采葛 but not featured in this story.
彼采葛兮，一日不见，如三月兮！
彼采萧兮，一日不见，如三秋兮！
彼采艾兮！一日不见，如三岁兮！
Dedicate this poem to the gal i like. Provided she got read my blog and know it's her. hahaa

Y i like these 2 poems. Cos its the only poem tat i understand (n i keep telling ppl i read 4 Shu 5 Jing...) hahaa

The second poem is unable to disclose cos its very obvious which book i read. :P

The 3rd poem:
Pleasure yields to pain:
Pleasure in the bright vision
elegantly demure
as faery pendants sway;
pain to predict, as the years deepen
the fading of tint from eye and lip
of this Ah Jiao, locked up in golden chamber.
Vain labor
when to no lover's eye this lovely image
unrolled will bring a tear,
when there is non to call
the living Zhenzhen from the painted scroll.

AC: dont ask me which Diao is this. Cos i dont know how to translate to Chinese.
But the writer projected it quite well

This 4th poem is written when one of the characters fell ill
Fever deepens,
so frail yet failing still,
and still no answer
to the riddle thath torments
Returned from dream to watch
swallows beffeted by the breeze
that tosses rustling blinds
of bamboo flecked with tears.
How long since spring departs,
how long since spring departs
that beauty should fade so fast?
Dry paulownia leaves beside the well
scrape on my heart.

Based on "how long since spring departs", it tells that she had been sick for quite some time...
