i noted that some clients n friends tot tat 13th month is compulsory, which in any way, is not. there is no law or rules that it is...
the wages committee only recommend 13th month for employees. BUT note the word used is 'recommend'. if the company is not doing well, or the directors decided to keep the money, too bad for you lor.
ppl change job because of low pay or no bonus. normally they wont downgrade themselves for lower pay but they may find themselves in deep soup when they 'downgrade their bonus.'
eg a person had 2mth bonus and monthly pay of $1,400 a slightly below market pay $1,500. this work out to be $20k/yr
suddenly she felt that she is shortchanged of her normal pay and decided to change job.
she found a job of $1,600 and is very happy about it... but this new company dont give bonus... so sad... $19k. unwittingly, she lost a few hundred.
so i think ppl like mk n xj, wont be quitting for quite some time... hehehee
i considering studying hedge fund. juz got news that a fund team had scored US$1.++ million of bonus and the rest of the company got at least US10k for bonus.
tat will be 1/3 of a car... song bo...
