Budget 09 in short

Company Tax 17%
40% rebate on industrial and commerical property
15% rental rebates for JTC, HDB and SLA leases

Businesses will be able to claim losses against their preceding three years of taxable income, instead of just the immediate preceding year under the enhanced loss carry-back relief programme. (I going to have headache on this)

The cap on losses that can be claimed against past taxable income will be raised to $200,000 from $100,000.
The government announced a 30% road tax rebate for goods vehicles, buses and taxis

Any of my readers driving CNG cars? no, ok, skip this
The rest not so relevant for u. for more info, pls refer to www.mof.gov.sg

The IMPORTANT PART

Households will receive double the GST credits in 2009. Each household will be given an additional payout of GST Credits, on top of the one that they will receive in July. This will be paid out in March, to help households with their immediate needs.

Those living in one to three-room HDB flats will receive an additional one month of S & CC rebates, who will therefore receive a total of 3 to 4.5 months for this year.

20% Rebates on personal tax capped at $2000
Owner-occupied residential properties for 2009 will also be given 40% tax rebate

Tax deductions for donations made in 2009 to IPCs will be 250%. (meaning u donate $100, rebate $250)
