car dream

i had always wanted to buy a car 5 yrs ago. that was abt the time when i was abt to release from NS. a budget was worked out.

Instalment $600 X 7 yrs = $50,000 (car with coe)
Petrol $150 / mth
Parking $400 /mth

if i am still in the engineering line, i maybe likely to get my dream honda
but i think i giving up this dream.
the expenses for car is increasing too high.

during that time, petrol was only abt US50/ barrel. now its US90.

although there is a drop in road tax but ERP keep increasing.

zhuying had been encouraging me to set my own business. but without lobang, its hard for me to work on something... sigh...

think i will have to stick to walking now. sigh...

tea incident

got a few stupid incident which make me stupid and funny during the trip.

we are in a restaurant eating. their rule is 'must order water / tea'.
as tian wanted water, we ordered water. then mk wanted to drink tie guan yin. so i went to the counter and tell the gal there 'can i have a pot of Chinese tea.'

she looked blurred at me. then i realised that all tea are from China! i immediately tell her that i want tie guan yin.

after i walked away, the waitress was laughing with her colleauge.

we are so used to telling restaurant waitress that we want chinese tea and they will give us tea on default of the type they have in the restaurant.

There are so many chinese tea. the more commonly known by us are:
西湖龍井 ,烏龍茶 ,鐵觀音 ,凍頂烏龍 ,普洱茶 . these exclude ju hua, red tea, etc... i wanted to buy a 紫砂壺 for teacher but its x lor. by the way, if u wanna drink good tea, must buy 紫砂壺 . the taste of the tea is different.

bought a pair of spear back to sg to find someone to fight with.

well, although its not use commonly as we dont always to fighting shows, i decided to buy a pair and put at home lor.
when i free, then i find spear courses to fight.

before i went China, i emailed CID, Arms and Weapon dept, Immigration, etc to confirm whether do i need permit and if its legal to bring it in as there are news that knuckles and other weapons are brought from China and ppl are jailed.

They referred me to A&W who told me tat permit is not necessary. Juz declared them. there are many ppl who dont declare things but were called for x-ray. so i lazy to walk that area and head for the 'nothing to declare' as the spear is 100% wood unlike those used by wu shu team, wood with some metal.

The duty officer stopped me when he saw the bulky thing and report it to his boss. the boss tot it might be dangerous and invited me to office to drink coffee.

at first, the singh officer gave a scary face. 'y this guy brought a spear in... as if he went africa'. i told him that i was doing some art and gave examples of ppl using them. he gave a 'shua ku' face and said that he would like to detain them and send them to CID for clearance first.

i was thinking 'ok lor, dont put my face on newspaper, can liao'. else u will c.

next was the spear. luckily he no play them like sun wukong, else i might faint. he tested the spear to see wat material its made off. in e end, he decided to clear me after seeing the items.

after days of spending, its time for a break. we headed for Bai Yun Shan. I had intention of walking up as there are more scenes to see but on consideration that i might get lost walking up alone... i took the cable car up with the rest.



tat night which i decided to go do my own shopping when mk brought the aunties to buy more clothes... mk returned back with a very very very pretty coat which was very very cheap... anyway, i got lost...
i saw an alley and decided to walk in. the things there quite samiliar to the 2 streets which we walked but its slightly more x... the only thing different which i saw was a long cut boots for guys. but i had no fund and there is no design.

Mk, this might be a better way to sleep... hehehe

i may go gz again within this 3 yrs. this time i may go during summer season cos i dont seems to buy much clothes this round. this group i went with is a shopping group. maybe i will find a walking group to walk parks, mountains and other places of interest.
