was reading a news abt an underage gal winning a few K from the casino.

the casino eventually paid the gal's mother.

the rule is NO UNDER 18 ALLOWED but the gal managed to sneak in and play. although the winning was claimed by the mother but is it legal?

Obviously NO UNDER 18 ALLOWED = no under 18 can play and win right?
But the casino says the rule did not say under 18 cant play and win. What cock reasoning is this...

I noticed that Sg Pools had the same problem. Under 18 not allowed into the premises. When claiming money, we only need to write our name n ic. If a poly yr 1 guy went in to buy then he changed his ic number, there is nobody to verify his ic lor.

busy

i looking at my schedule for March.

First Week - I got lessons every day lor! from monday to sunday! There is a career fair during this week also. Dont even know if can squeeze time to go take a look or not

Second Week - IT Show and class. Teacher is expected to return within these few weeks. So this means, my weekends are fully booked. My weekday is booked by course class

Third Week - I hope to start my report by this week. I already had a topic in mind but i dont know if its easy to write or not. Hopefully, the annual report of the company i have in mind arrived by this week.

Forth Week - I think opera class should increase by this week as there are quite a lot of shows for us to learn n of cos i still need to work hard in my singing.

Gush! I think i may have a nerve breakdown by June. I aiming to clear my degree by Oct and hopefully my course by 2012.

i juz received a report saying that wef 1/3/07, Philippines up its a minimum maid wages from US200 to US400.

Upon conversion, its will be around S$700. Not forgetting maid levy of $320. It works out to be around $1,120.
A cleaner auntie only takes home around $800 but she works 6 days compared to a maid who works for 7 days a week.

But there is a difference...

Free 'hotel', free food, free drink for the maid...

Its so good to be a maid...

i looking at the certs which all my cousins had.

on my father's side, only 2 relatives (my bro n my 姑姑's son) holding dip. there are no degrees. The daughters all dont know how to study one...
i remembered that i almost vomit blood when i taught my 堂妹 maths.
She could add 10 apples with 12 pears but not 10 pears and 12 apples.

pressure is on me as i am the only above 21 who is still studying. i had promised my late grandfather that i will go University. although i cant make it there, but i still wanted to keep my promise.

my uncles say things like 'u study so much, how come earn so little', 'how come u study so many yrs liao still not finish'

my mom's side are all talents...
2 scholar, 1 Bach Mechanical Eng, 2 currently studying Bach Business, 1 Sec Sch teacher. Only my family got no degree. Sad right...

So pressure is still on me. I　need to work very hard to get my cert. Life is so poor thing.
I just want to have a relaxed life also can not...

it is not the matter of challenging who is better but at least to save some face lor.

relative visit

my pc is on the whole day, i dont really entertain my guests cause i was really very anxious abt something

as usual, the nephews dont know how to address everyone and addressed everyone wrongly.
To think that they call me kor kor and family name... Feel like slapping them hahaa...

My aunties like to ask me the world most irriating question.

Anyway, there is a new member to the family.
My 二表姐 gave birth to a daughter. its her third and all three are gals. She said she wanted to have one more and try for a guy.

大姨 (二表姐 mother) gave birth to a guy after i gave her blissing.
When i was Pri 6, they bullied me and wanted me to give 10 cny greetings, else no ang bao. i managed to come out with 9 but i got lost at the 10th. 早生贵子came to my mind, the following yr, a son is borned.

my eldest nephew got beating by her mother for coming in 7th in class! mind u, he is only Pri 1 last yr!

my 7th cousin (one yr younger than me) scored first (from the bottom) in sch and was 'praised' in assembly was not even scolded.

Looks like i going to have a new bed soon after so many ppl sitting on it.

i was anxious the whole day til after i got home from gcb. i wanted to take cab home but was 'making loss' for the cny as i gave some ang bao to my parents and grandma as a mark of thanks for their upbringing. (i dont contribute to housekeeping, so i gave a small token to them)

remember the bai wu long i did in dec? ya... the 1 i forgot which is the exam date.

as i made a few 'predictions' correctly from nov to jan, i am very worry that i will fail after dreaming of failing badly. i only allow myself to fail within the range of 45-49 for Level 1 and Level 2.

as u know, i took 2 papers. When i opened my email, i felt like jumping and sharing my joy with ppl who r close to me. although, i only score 50 for both subjects, but i am very happy and satisfy with the result. For those who know me, u should know the happy-go-lucky side of me.

my relatives coming to see the new sofa... lets see if they can squeeze in this small flat or not.

first thing in the morning, i need to keep my scripts and JunMa (horse whip) so that they wont ask too much questions.

cny countdown

As usual, i was not at home the whole night. Normally, i will hide in Chinatown or MS for fire crackers / fire work but this yr i wanted to try something different - go temple for first joss stick.

I thinking if to go play Bumper car. Last night, i saw small kids playing. So boring... They dont play til 'fly out of the car 1 lor'

I left home already 10pm. On the way to a temple, my friend sms me to ask me go Chinatown but he put me aeroplane at 10.40pm. Sian...

I decided to carry out my plan but it was 11pm. Not sure if i could make it on time.
Anyway i just went.

I dont understand why people countdown at 12am while midnight is at 11pm. I follow Chinese timing when it comes to CNY and my birthday.

After the temple bian xian finished, i went to watch some dragon and lion dance. The only word to say is... Great... The lion walk on wire...

The entire temple was smoky. Eyes are almost in tear while i was moving around the temple. As i was leaving the temple, a group of crowd was there to pray for fortune.

CNY 15 days cant complain things right... Ok lor, i dont complain. C for yourself.

juz wanna tell u.
i hate ppl who play 4D too often.

There are ppl who will bet on 1 number for 30yrs and never win.
Imagine u spend $3 weekly X 52 weeks X 30 yrs... Tat works out to be $4,600+

Assume that u only win once. Top place $2000. Its silly right?
Of cos there are chances whereby u will win a few times. But what is the possibility?

Actually i been quite busy this 2 months.
I woke out at 6.30am to go for a run on sunday morning. Hardworking right...
Then did some running on tue and thur, hoping to build up some strength for my singing.

By the time i got home, its around 10.30pm. So tiring... I hope to continue this for a while but after cny, i will standby to continue my studies.

Hopefully, i can find time to do some running...
Gd news is i managed to do 3 pull-ups now, compare to just 1 when i got enlisted

renovation n cny purchase

the old god table and sofa was gone after 24 yrs. ya... i had been hanging in jurong for so long already... the table and chair were old guards. now its removed. i missed them...

my bro's gf came to see the table n sofa for the last time. we also got another visitor... a stray cat. i wonder if its my grandfather's recination to see the table.



the new furniture came today, its was purchased by my mom. she said she like the L-sofa.

heloo... u can see from the pic that there is no place to walk lor... the arm chair was so close to the tv (less than 3m) brainless purchase...
dad n i like to lay on the sofa to watch tv. This L-sofa, cant sleep one lor... there is no head rest, how to sleep...

the house is so 'big', yet she buy such a big sofa which u dont have place to walk after putting it in...

Imagine she happily invited her family to come over... Over 30 ppl lor (8 families of at least 4 person each), sit where? There isnt any floor area for sitting also

Went to buy bah guah today. Lin Ji Yuan so super long. Mom asked me to queue there juz to buy 1 kg of bah guah... The lunch hr queue started from LJY shop til Xiang Wei. The turn to the MRT escalator then turn to the MRT stairway. I think u need to wait around 2 hrs...

Stupid right... Waste 2 hrs to queue juz for 1 kg.

U know what she said? "u everyday waste time window shopping, spend time to queue bah guah lah"
Pls lor. i window shop, at least still can exercise lor. Ask me stand there... I not the guard in front of istana.

juz received my cpf statement and kana scolded by dad...

being bo liao today with no appointment, i went to look at hdb website...

1) Income more than $3000, cant apply for 3-room... sob sob... 2 person income will hit $3k one lor...

3) Booking fee $2000
4) Downpayment with all fees eg stamp duty, conveyance fee. this will amount at least $30k lor. where to find such money?! $30, i have lah...

Royston Tan to make S$1m musical on Getai.

Royston is the same person who created "Xin Sai Feng, the movie" shown in the musuem, which i missed it...

The show titled "881" will feature 18 Chinese songs written by the late Chen Jin Lang, which will include Du Ma, 7 Zi (wat else...)

Hopefully, this show will create aware of the beautiful hokkien opera.

The next wonder... will COI be asked to help out...

The film will be shot entirely in HD format in Singapore. Shooting is expected to start in March.

Producers aim to have "881" up on the big screens in August, in time for the seventh lunar month.

with the big day coming, everyone is excited on what are they going to receive this yr.

When budget was announced last yr, my office already had the feeling of GST going to be increased. Luckily it dont happen.
More help were issued for the citizens.
Defence budget increased as usual.

wef 1/4/07, we may be having a new postman

wanna complain abt the current postman and hope the new one will do better...
i talking abt those who do the delivery not those in the office sell stamp.

1) salary - do u know that most of the postmen are temp / part timer staff? they are paid by kg of letter that they are delivered. Which means, if all letters are just a piece of paper of postcard, they dont earn much.

i asked one of the aunties, she said she like heavy ones like annual report of listed companies. hahaa... although its heavy when she cycled, but she earn more from there and its only 1 book compare to the number of letters of the same weight. she also commented that these families are rich families. (I object to this statement of hers)

2) Registered mail - the postman are so weird one lor. in a family, most of the time, the whole family wont be in. They could be studying or working. only maybe about 30% have maids and housewives at home.

As the mails are registered, they must be hand delivered to the flat. Cant they come during at night when everyone return home?
I understand that they also want time for their families but for such occupation, its more of a night job than a day job mah... anyway, they only started delivery in afternoon.

weird new postman
1) Currently got so many postboxes around. The rule is that u must have sufficient boxes for ppl to deliver their mails. This not only means boxes but also offices.

2) Stamps: are there going to have 2 type of stamps? Stamp A for Company A, Stamp B for Company B? Else how consumers decide which service to use?

Well... as usual... none of my problem... i not going to bid to open a postage company also :P

pls note that Section 44 is to be deleted from the Income Act.
Normally companies are likely to 'distribute' S44 to their shareholders.
Feb - Mar and Aug - Sept is what we known as 'Yr End Period'

Directors would recommend dividends to be distributed and shareholders will approve them in AGM.

There are 2 types of dividends: Less Tax and One Tier.

Less Tax dividends = Dividends with S44.
If u received $1.00 dividend, there is a 20 cent credit (S44) in IRAS. Should u need to pay tax, IRAS will deduct from the 20cents first before asking u to pay. Else they will return u the money.

In another words, u will receive $1.20 instead of $1.

One Tier dividend = dividends without S44
Simply means if u receive $1, its urs... No more extra.

Of cos u need to risk the amount u put in if u wanna buy early.
But if u buy late, it could means, u use ur own money to buy dividend.
Note that u need to wait for X-Date before u receive the dividend.

pay rise

after auditing so many companies, i found that not many companies giving payrise to their staff.

normally, ang moh companies will have pay rise, Chinese companies there is but not many. i quite sicking of directors taking all the profits and leave nothing to their staff or gave them 1 mth bonus but they took 10 months.

if the companies is really not doing well, fair enough not to give bonus or rise. but accountants will know if u making money or not lor.

i like to work in audit companies. not only there will be guaranteed pay rise but also guaranteed bonus. (bear in mind that not all pte ltd companies are giving)

i juz received my pay. As expected, there is a rise. Not much, but in theory, sufficient to offset GST rise in April hahaaa.
